SOLE AGENCY COURSE

Module 1         Facilitated by Larry Moser

Requires each participant to complete an Everything DiSC Profile in advance of the course (requires 10-15 minute time investment).

Objectives:

• Discuss the impact of the leader’s actions and attitudes on others
• Identify individual communication inclinations using Everything DiSC
  • Stressors
  • Motivators
• Gain leadership strategies specifically tailored to the individual employee, targeting:
  • the ability to direct and delegate
  • motivation and the environment the leader can create
  • the leader’s approach to developing others
  • how the participants managers sees them (priorities, preferences and conflict)
• leaders to further internal interest, awareness and action

Module 2         Facilitated by Leslie Weisman

Reinforcement of the importance of leadership to the employee’s morale and welfare

• Impact of trauma on LEOs
• Cumulative effects of stress and trauma
• Vicarious and Secondary trauma

• Trauma-informed policing
• Continued and updated discussion of:
  • Dysthymia vs. major depressive disorder
  • Definition/discussion of PTSD and Cumulative PTSD
  • Role of nutrition and sleep in wellness
  • Resilience/Post-Traumatic Growth
  • Self-care
  • Relates statistics and best practices
